Integrity, honesty and commitment serve as the foundation for the Bedrock Real Estate Group at Keller Williams Beverly Hills. These core principles are also the defining values of Agent and Broker, Scott Butler. Over the past seven years, Scott has successfully closed deals for everyone from first time home buyers and savvy investors to sellers at all different price points. He has also worked in both the residential and commercial sectors.
Prior to his work in real estate, Scott enjoyed a rewarding and diverse career that included teaching English in Japan, as well as positions with Fortune 500 Companies including American Express and Xerox. He is also a published author and public speaker. Scott’s sense of civic responsibility shined bright as he served for thirteen distinguished years as a member of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and four years as Police Captain for the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles. His work as a Detective, and later, as Spokesman for the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau – where he was the media contact responsible for disseminating breaking news updates on department matters, cases and public safety issues to local TV and radio – allowed Scott to inter-act with the community on a daily basis.
Dealing with people across the city enriched Scott’s knowledge and appreciation of the many neighborhoods that make up Los Angeles. These unique insights served as an added benefit to Scott as he transitioned to real estate and began working with buyers and sellers all across the Southland from Pasadena to Venice Beach and everywhere in between. Scott’s vast real estate experience also includes work as a general contractor where he rehabbed a variety of homes. He remains a well-connected resource for a wide range of vendors and home improvement specialists.
Scott has successfully negotiated hundreds of deals and disputes, and was recognized with a position on the Beverly Hills Greater Los Angeles Association of Realtors (BHGLAAR) Arbitration and Grievance Board. His highly regarded conflict resolution skills and passion for deal making, allow Scott to search for a positive outcome creating a scenario where both parties regularly walk away pleased with the final result. This is one of the main reasons why Scott’s past clients continue to refer new business to his Bedrock Real Estate Team.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Scott received his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College and a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University. He continues to be an active and engaged member of his community. Scott’s diverse life experiences and interactions with different people, languages and cultures have provided him with a unique global perspective. This translates to an ease and appreciation for working with clients from all over the world.
